Spend a day in a shopping mall and observe the kind of clothing people around you wear. It is evident that in this day and age, the trend is still denims. I have several pairs which have become part of my wardrobe for everyday wear. They have seen countless use and washing as I find them very practical to wear whether at home or at work.
Personally, I like denim jeans that are branded like Calvin Klein, Wrangler and Levi’s. These brands provide a whole range of different styles for me to choose from. Moreover, I never found it difficult to get the right fit every time I make my purchase of new jeans. I have a slim build with curves in all the right places; this is probably one of the reasons why.
When I got married, my taste in jeans slightly shifted. I took to buying Levi’s and its products. Yes, some are a bit expensive compared to the newer brands, but through all the years I have experienced the reliability of Levi’s. In terms of quality, their denim jeans are very good and are long-lasting.
While I have a taste for branded jeans, my husband is the exact opposite. Generally, he buys clothing not based on what’s the current trend but based on the comfort it offers. It doesn’t matter whether they’re branded or not for as long as they fit him well, then that is good enough for him. He makes it a point to shop for himself because he wants to buy the exact fit.
Now, we’re both retired. I spend a lot of time at home preparing our meals, doing the wash and playing with the grandchildren whenever they’re around. In my leisure time, I sew curtains, pillow cases, centerpieces and table covers to keep me busy. My husband has turned to gardening and lovingly tends to a substantial part of our backyard. He grows a variety of vegetables from where we get our daily supply. Because of this, denim jeans have become regular wear as he finds them convenient to move around.
Since he devotes much of his time to our garden, he leaves it to me to purchase other things. Even buying denim jeans for him has been assigned to me. Lately, I bought a pair of Levi’s mens carpenter jeans for him online. When it was delivered to us, he was quite pleased with the style.
He loved the fit because it was loose from the thighs straight down. The mens carpenter jeans are what he has been looking for, so he told me. All the pockets sewn around are very useful to him as small tools or gadgets he uses everyday can be easily stuffed into them. Besides, the style allows him to easily move around the garden. But I noticed one drawback with it, the fabric used is thinner compared to other Levi’s jeans. So I thought, maybe extra care should be done for the pair to last longer. Then I weighed the pros and cons. Well, considering the design and versatility of the men’s carpenter jeans, the pair is really worth more than what I paid for. Suffice to say, it’s just reasonably priced.
After a month, I decided to purchase a second pair of the Levi’s mens carpenter jeans for my husband. He told me I made the right decision. And if they wear out in the future, he won’t hesitate to purchase new pairs again with the same brand. Then something clicked. Who would ever thought, my husband would eventually fall for one particular brand and style.
